Abstract
This work investigates the relationship between erotic love/desire and anxiety, as thought of by Plato in The Symposium, and Kierkegaard in The Concept of Anxiety. Anxiety and erotic desire turn out to be parallel experiences that provoke greater human progress. Although such feelings of anxiety or desire are uncomfortable, accepting change turns out to be an essential and necessary part of the human condition.
